Ma'at was the daughter of Ra the god of the sun. Ma'at wears a headdress made of a ring of fabric with an ostrich feather. The ostrich feather she wears represents truth. She's wears a white robe but is shown shown in different colors. Also, she has a set wings and carries an Ankh. In the other hand she carries a scepter which represents power. Her totemic form(a natural object such as a person or an animate object, as some sort of animal or an inanimate object) is a feather. Ma'at had many roles in mythology. One included when a person died and there soul would be "judged" whether they can go into the afterlife. She would be the scale and the feather she would wear on her head is what the person's heart would be weighed against. If the souls heart was lighter than the feather than that meant there life was full of good things and they could continue on into the after life. If there heart weighed more it meant there life was full of sin and the soul would be eaten and would not be able to go to the afterlife. Also Ma'at was the goddess,or concept, of truth, justice, and harmony. She was associated with the balance of the earth. She balanced the chaos that the god Seth created. Ma'at was the wife of Thoth, god of the law. For my temple to Ma'at I would make it out of normal house materials. In it there will be a room painted red with curtains draped around the whole room. In this part of the temple there will be a statue of Ma'at made of silver. In another room there will be hieroglyphics of all the stories of Ma'at . There would be a palace placed next to it for the upper classes for the pharaoh's' priests, etc. to be in the presence of there goddess Ma'at. It would have all the essentials a kitchen, master bedroom, and everything you would find in a mansion now. In the center of the palace there is a large fountain with Ma'at sculpted out in marble. There is many statues of Ma'at to show she is guarding the mansion and will always protect you.
